Virginia’s oldest covered bridge, Humpback Bridge, located near Covington, VA, was built in 1857. The center of the floor and roof is about four feet higher than the ends, giving the bridge both its appearance and its name. It is the only bridge of its design in the United States. This is the fifth design in the Journeys With Jimanie series.
